Silence Is A Virtue

Silence is a virtue
No one can break its code

One has to break it willingly
That is what I've been told.

If you ask me I won't tell you
My lips are sealed tight

I will not break my silence
It would be wrong, and that's not right.

I was trusted by a true friend
Not to speak a single word

I promised and I crossed my heart
This secret will not be heard.

If not for trust and honesty
A friendship would not last

I gave my word to keep it
Good friends will not ask.
