We dance and compete
Playing ritual ball games;
Trumping foes at Fidchell;
Or riding horses, chasing harts
Like Lugh, Sam Ildanach
Skilled One of Many Arts

At Lughnasadh
With sickles we shall reap
The first grains of harvest
For loaves of bread to sustain us
To keep us strong and free from harm
Like Lugh Lamhfhada
Lugh of the Long Arm

At Lughnasadh
We shall honor Tailtiu
With oak, fenugreek and sunflower
She gave us life by giving hers
Clearing the land with her last might
Like Lugh, her foster-son
Shining One of Victory and Light
